Status Post For 31-July-2025

Hey gang! Just a quick post to keep the daily posting going while work has me so busy. Google likes that. Regardless, I had hoped to have my UQ Holder “Back to the Vaults” piece done by now. I found I had more to say about it than I did about Negima. Go figure. Hopefully, I can get that finished by this weekend, but if not, it should be next week for sure.

I’ve also been working on fixing broken images in posts from 2008. I’m about half-way done and still need to do 2007. Fortunately, both 2008 and 2007 have fixes scattered throughout when I used to have the Top-10 posts showing and a broken image would show up. I’ll be glad when the project is done.

I need to get this done so that I can upgrade this blog’s obsolete theme. When I bought it YEARS ago, NewWPThemes was a legitimate seller of WordPress themes. They got bought out by some company called Flexithemes. The first thing Flexithemes did was make an update that to supposedly make the theme compatible with WP5.1. Instead, what I saw was that it added an advertising link to their website. Not only that, but I lost support for the theme I purchased.

They haven’t made an update to a theme since 2019 from what I can tell. The site hasn’t been updated since 2024, when they were posting rubbish posts as intellectual stuff. So yeah, either I pay someone a ton of money to fix the existing theme, or I just buy another, more modern one. I’ve opted for the latter. I’ve tested the free version off an on for a while. I need to pay for the full version and test that.
